Key Project Task

  • Collection of 1-meter GSD imagery
  • Ability of states to “buy- up” to acquire higher resolution imagery
  •  Simultaneous deployment of aircraft and crews to multiple states to meet project schedule requirements
  •  Close coordination with FAA and military controllers to obtain access to airspace to conduct imagery collection

The USDA National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) acquires imagery during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental U.S.   A primary goal of the NAIP program is to enable availability of digital ortho photography within a year of acquisition.

DAS has participated in the NAIP program since 2007.  During this period DAS has collected digital imagery covering multiple states across the nation during this period.

During the NAIP re-compete of contracts for the 2012 IDIQ contract   with   four   option   years   DAS   formed   a   strategic relationship with Premier Geospatial (PremierGeo) to pursue the contract.  Our team was successful in being awarded a contract to support the Program.

DAS   was   responsible   for   collecting   imagery  in   Kentucky, Michigan and South Dakota during the 2012 flight season.  All imagery was collected within the required flight window.
