(FY12) St Johns River Water Management District FL 1.0 Meter LiDAR

Digital Aerial Solution, LLC (DAS) was awarded a Task Order by the USGS for the planning, acquisition, processing, and derivative products of LiDAR data at a nominal pulse spacing (NPS) of 1.0 meters.  The task was for two priority areas of the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) which encompass approximately 659 square miles for the counties of Putnam and Clay Florida.

DAS collected the LiDAR data using the Leica ALS60 LiDAR sensor.   Both supplemental ground control and ground control quality check points were collected.

A pilot project was completed and reviewed by the USGS prior to final product development.  The vertical accuracy RMSEz for the project was 9.25 cm.

A critical component of the project development was the elimination of edge artifacts between this task and previous FY10 and FY11, USGS-GPSC, Suwannee River Water Management District’s tasks to minimize differences in surface elevations at adjoining project boundaries.
